Problem:
Door Won't Open
Possible Solutions:
First, determine whether it is a Door or
Motor problem; if equipped with motor, with door in the down position
release the manual disconnect located where the door arm connects to
the motor (usually a red pull cord is provided). If the door cannot be
operated by hand, check the springs above the door or along the side to
see if one or more has broken.* Check the lifting cables to see if they
are connected or broken.*
*If either of these situations arise, consult an
authorized service technician.
Problem:
Door Won't Close
Possible Solutions:
If motor does nothing, check the power source. If the door starts to
close and goes back up, check for obstructions blocking the door. If
the operator is equipped with Photobeam, check for any obstruction
blocking the beam. Check the power to photobeam for proper alignment
(small lights should light up). With lights on, break the beam with
your hand; the light should go out or blink, depending on model. Check
the opener down force located on the back of the opener (labeled up
force and down force). Do not adjust beyond safe level.
Always test the door when this adjustment is made with 2x4 on the floor
to test the safety reversing feature. The door should reverse when
contact is made with 2x4 and pressure is applied.
